FARMINGTON – Three Greater Farmington-Wilton area races are upcoming.

The 9th annual Glen Gilchrist Yellow Ribbon 5K and 1-Mile are slated for Friday, June 23 at Titcomb Ski Slope in Farmington. The 1-Mile starts at 6:45 a.m., with the 5K to begin at 6:00. The 26th annual Strawberry Festival 3-Mile and 6th annual Kid’s 1-Mile events (formerly Moonlight Madness) are scheduled for Saturday, July 29 in downtown Farmington. The 3-Mile race ($10 entry) starts at 9 a.m. The 1-Mile race (ages 15-under) begins at 10:00. Entry fee is $5. Registration starts at 8 a.m. ($12 to run both races). The Wilton Blueberry Festival 10K and 1-Mile races are slated for Friday, August 4. The 1-Mile event (15-under) starts at 6 p.m. on High Street next to Kineowatha Park. The 10K begins at 6:30 on High Street on crest of hill near downtown Wilton. Registration at Wiles Funeral Home parking lot on High Street will start at 5:00 Entry fee is $10 for the 10K ($12 race day) and $8 for the 1-Mile race. Hoop camp planned

NORTH ANSON – The Cobra Country Hoop Camp is slated for June 26-29. The times are 2-5 p.m. for incoming Grades 3-6, and 5:30-8:30 for incoming Grades 7-9. Cost is $75.

FARMINGTON The Mt. Blue Youth Cheering Tryouts for 2006 are upcoming. This group is sponsored by the Farmington Emblem Club #460.

LEWISTON – The Lewiston High School Summer Soccer registration is scheduled for the LHS cafeteria on Monday, June 5, and Tuesday, June 6, from 2-3 p.m. Eligible are girls entering Grades 9-11, or attending LHS in the fall.
