BRUNSWICK – Members of the Bowdoin College IT staff and program sponsors recently helped to celebrate the accomplishments of more than 20 student Web designers from all over Maine.

Area winners of the 2006 Maine Student Web Design Award Program were:

Best Home Page goes to Sam Johnson, seventh-grader from Brunswick High School for his Web site, “Skinning the Art of Desktop Customization”; Most Accessible Web Site, Sam Johnson, honorable mention, “Skinning-the Art of Desktop Customization.”

Most Interactive Web Site award goes to Carrie-Lynn Davis, 11th-grader from Lewiston High School. Her site, www.bagladynotwithoutyou.com, is a personal blog and Internet hang out site.

Most Accessible Web Site goes to Tony Calileo, 10th-grader from Lake Region High School, Naples. It is the official Web site for the town of Appleclaw, Maine.

Overall Best High School Web Site second place goes to Neil Pomerleau, ninth-grader from Edward Little High School, Auburn. His site provides “A Guide to Sudoku Puzzles.”
