Turner edged Winthrop 3-8 in an 8-inning thriller in an opening game in the Babe Ruth Baseball League.

Matt Paladino whacked a double in the last of the eighth and scored the winning runon a hit by Nick Able. Kolby Youland relived starter Nick Letourneau in the fourth and shut out Winthrop the rest of the way.
