AUBURN – The construction of the customer service center and maintenance facility for Western Maine Transportation Services is near completion.

On June 22 and 23, the customer service department will move to 76 Merrow Road in Auburn, at the corner of Hotel Road. There may be some temporary disruptions of phone service those days. There will be no disruptions to scheduled bus service during the move.

Construction on the new 13,010-square-foot facility began in October. The new building brings together the customer service center and maintenance facility in Auburn, with the administrative and customer service office in Mexico.

The new maintenance facility will service the WMTS fleet of 39 vehicles and 10 Citylink buses. The building has two 90-foot drive-through bays, enhancing WMTS’ ability to maintain its fleet in-house.

WMTS is a private, nonprofit corporation designated by the Maine Department of Transportation as a Regional Transit Corporation for residents of Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties.
