AUBURN – Central Maine Community College will offer a refrigerant certification seminar from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 15. The eight-hour course is designed for HVAC/refrigeration technicians who works directly with refrigeration equipment and require certification through an Environmental Protection Agency-approved program.
The course will provide the skills necessary to complete EPA requirements for certification for the handling of refrigerants. Participants should have prior refrigeration and air conditioning experience.
A pre-seminar study packet and practice test are provided, and participants should allow a minimum of four hours to complete the material prior to the class. At the end of the course, participants may sit for the EPA refrigerant-handling examination. A photo ID is required to take the examination.
The instructor will be Charlie Veilleux, an instructor in the Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Department at Eastern Maine Community College. He has more than 30 years of experience in the industry, 15 years as an installer, troubleshooter, service manager and 15 years as a refrigeration instructor.
