ELLSWORTH – Emily Johnson hit a two-run triple with the bases loaded in the fourth inning as Auburn Suburban clinched third place in the Maine State 11-12 Softball Championships with a 9-5 victory over Rockland.

Johnson’s big hit, one of her two triples in the game, started a six-run inning for Auburn Suburban. Winning pitcher Kayla Nadeau struck out six and scattered five hits in the victory.

Nadeau and Amanda Turcotte also collected two hits, two RBIs, and two runs on offense. Auburn Suburban finished the tournament with a record of 3-2.

Danica Gustin had three hits and scored two runs for Rockland (1-4).
