FARMINGTON – Chelsea is the Pet of the Week at the Franklin County Animal Shelter.

She is an older lady, about 9 years old, but still has plenty of life and love to give. She often plays with a tennis ball or a rubber bone. She loves to toss them about and chase after them, even when no one else is playing with her. She also loves to cuddle.

Chelsea will lean in for a good head scratch, then she will try to climb into a lap and be the lap dog that she is at heart. Physically she is a little too big to be a lap dog, weighing about 55 pounds.

Chelsea would make a great addition to almost any household. She would be more than will to be a jogging partner or a couch companion. Chelsea has been at the shelter for almost three months because she is an older dog and most people want younger dogs.

The Flavor of the Month for September is “Rocky Roads,” adult tortoise shell cats. The Flavor of the Month adoption fee is $35. For more information, call 778-2638.
