LEWISTON – Registration is taking place for Northeast Bank’s Money Matters Financial Series, offered through Lewiston’s Adult Education Program at Lewiston High School.

President and CEO Jim Delamater will kick off the series on Wednesday, Sept. 13, with a session titled “Financial Planning: A Must for Everyone,” where he explains the importance of developing a financial plan, the steps to choosing an adviser and the pitfalls to avoid when working with a planner.

“Many people don’t think they can speak with a planner until they are wealthy, but I always get the question, ‘How do I accumulate wealth?’ This course is designed for those starting out or for those who are veterans and looking for a change,” said Delamater.

Marcel Blais, chief operating officer, will host the session on lending and will touch on various aspects of credit, including protecting credit as well as identity.

Bank officers and experts in banking, insurance and investments will host sessions. The schedule is as follows:

“Financial Planning: A Must for Everyone,” 6 to 7:30 p.m., Sept 13, $15; “Roadblocks to Financial Success,” 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 21, $15, instructor, Linda Varrell, vice president, Northeast Bank.

“Common Sense Investing,” 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, $15, Kevin Carbin, certified financial planner, Northeast Bank; “To Your Credit,” 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, $15, Marcel Blais; “Want More Money in Your Pocket?,” 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, $15, Christian Bishop, certified financial planner, Northeast Bank.

“Insurance 101,” 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, $15, Deborah Hillier, CIC, Northeast Bank Insurance Group Inc.; “Smart Women Finish Rich,” 6 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 8, $15, Leslie Cooper, certified financial planner, Northeast Bank.
