LEWISTON – Marie Jeanne Laurendeau is celebrating 60-plus years as church organist and music teacher.

Laurendeau is well known for her music ministry in various churches in the Lewiston area. Throughout her career she gave piano lessons to many people of the community who continue to entertain throughout the state. Her students ranged from age 6 to 75 and she said, “My students were my consolation.”

An open house will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at Maison Marcotte Independent Living Center (formerly Marcotte Home), 100 Campus Ave., second-floor dining room.
