Grange meeting
AUBURN – Members of Danville Junction Grange will meet at the hall at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, for a business meeting. The program will be under the direction of the Legislative Committee, and resolutions will be discussed. Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting. All members and guests are welcome.

Kiwanis speaker
LEWISTON – The Auburn Lewiston Kiwanis Club will host Larry Marcoux, director of community impact for the United Way of Androscoggin County, at noon Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Ramada Inn Conference Center.

Farmers’ market
LEWISTON – The Lewiston Farmers’ Market will be open from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, in Kennedy Park, corner of Bates and Pine streets. Northfield will provide music.
The market offers fresh, locally-grown produce, baked goods, cooking demonstrations, free recipes and food samples and booths with information on health and wellness.

LEWISTON – Members of Twin City Council 160, United Commercial Travelers of America and Canada, will meet at Marco’s Restaurant at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14. All members and guests are welcome.

Art Club program
AUBURN – The Monday, Oct. 16, meeting of the Auburn Art Club will be held at 2 p.m. at the High Street Congregational Church, 106 Pleasant St. Amanda Huotari will present “Ferocemente Dolce,” a 20-minute, one-woman play of travel, romance and chocolate.
Huotari works with the Odd Company at the Oddfellows Theatre in Buckfield. She recently returned from a year-long study at the Lecoq School of Theatre in Paris, France. Huotari has a bachelor of fine arts in acting from Emerson College and is a graduate of the International School of Comic Acting in Reggio Emilia, Italy.
Hostesses will be Maureen Hargreaves, June Spear and Barbara Ring.
VFW meeting
LISBON FALLS – VFW Post 9459 and Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the post home, Route 196l. All members are invited and new members are welcome.
The agenda will include discussion of serving hot wings from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays. The cost is $6. There is also pizza Wednesday through Friday for $5. The post is collecting items for troops.

Blood drive
GREENE – The Greene Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will sponsor a Red Cross blood drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Greene Fire Department, Patten Road.
