LEWISTON – Post 22, American Legion, will hold a membership meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at the old Post 22 home, 190 Bates St.

A special segment of the meeting will observe the anniversaries of the terrorist truck bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks on Oct. 23, 1983, in Beirut, Lebanon, and the boat bombing of the U.S.S. Cole on Oct. 12, 2000, in Yemen, Aden.

Roland Cyr, past commandant, Central Maine Marine Corps League, will give a history of the truck bombing. Post 22 Adjutant Jerry DerBoghosian will read a special proclamation in regard to both events.

The agenda will also include discussion of bylaws and a final report on the Post 22 audit by Cyr. There will be a discussion on raising membership dues to conform with the national level and plans for Veterans Day, Saturday, Nov. 11.
