LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine will begin taking registrations for swim lesson on Monday, Oct. 16, for YWCA members and Monday, Oct. 23, for the public.

Lessons are offered Monday through Thursday morning, afternoon and evenings and Saturday mornings. Classes are available for all abilities and ages. The YWCA offers classes for 6 months old to adult. Classes may be a half hour or an hour long, depending on level.

Classes will begin Monday, Oct. 30, and run for six to eight weeks. The cost of a half-hour class is $55 for six weeks, $60 for seven weeks, and $65 for eight weeks. The cost of an hour class is $90 for eight weeks. Participants must be members of the YWCA.

Basic membership is good for a year and allows members to participate in YWCA programs on a pay-as-you-go basis. YWCA basic membership fees are: child, up to age 12, $30; youth, 13 to 17, $35; adult, 18 to 59, $55; senior citizen, 60+, $45. Private swim lessons are also available by appointment. The cost is $25a half-hour session. Participants must be members of the YWCA. To book a private lesson, call the YWCA.
