HADDAM, Conn. (AP) – Hunters stumbled across a human skull on a peninsula in Haddam Neck and state police are investigating.
On Tuesday, the medical examiner’s office determined that the skull was human and came from a man between the ages of 35 and 45, state police said.
The skull was discovered Monday afternoon on the Cove Meadow peninsula where the Connecticut and Salmon rivers join, an area that floods extensively during heavy rains.
“At this point we don’t know if the person got there because of flooding, was put there or walked in there,” State Police Sgt. Robert J. Derry said. “That’s what we’re trying to find out.”
