Christmas bazaar

BOWDOIN – A Christmas bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the West Bowdoin Parish Hall. A chowder lunch will be served at 11 a.m. There will be a food table, and coffee will be served all day. The fair is being sponsored by the women of the West Bowdoin Baptist Church.

Holiday fair

BRUNSWICK – The All Officers’ Spouses’ Club of Naval Air Station Brunswick will hold a holiday craft fair to benefit local charities from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Brunswick High School, Maquoit Road. Admission is free.

Holiday shopping

GRAY – A “Holiday Shopping Extravaganza” will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the First Congregational Parish Hall, 5 Brown St., behind McDonald’s. Door prizes given throughout the afternoon. For more information contact Pamela Martin at 650-9194.

Grange fair

GREENE – Androscoggin Grange 8 will hold its annual craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the grange hall. Anyone wishing to rent a table can call Janice at 946-5006 or Dell at 946-5050.

Church sale

LEEDS – The Leeds Community Church annual turkey supper and holiday sale will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Church Hill Road. Cost will be adults, $6; children 5 to 12, $3; children 4 and under, free. Menu will include roast turkey, stuffing, squash, peas, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, milk, coffee or tea.

St. Patrick’s fair

LEWISTON – “And the stockings were hung by the chimney with care…” is the theme of this year’s St. Patrick’s Church Christmas Fair on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3 and 4, in the Parish Hall, comer of Blake and Walnut streets. Proceeds help defray the cost of tuition subsidies for students from St. Patrick’s Parish who attend local Catholic schools.

The fair will feature knit wear, jewelry, books, crafts, baked goods, white elephant and garage sale items and raffles, including a $200 pearl necklace and tickets for a Patriots football game.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Raffle drawings will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Sodality fair

LEWISTON – The Ladies of St. Ann Sodality will hold the annual holiday fair from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday Nov. 4, at Holy Family Parish Church Hall, Sabattus Street.

Fair chairwoman is Yvette Michaud. Committee member are Bernice Brousseau, books and puzzles; Claudette Jalbert, baked goods and candy; Rachel Simard, white elephant items; Jeanne Pacheco, jewelry, knitting, sewing; Flo Marquis and Jackie Veilleux, plants; Lucille Gardner and Pauline Delahanty, Kiddie Corner; Ellen Chervenak, 50/50; Buddy Labrie, cash raffle; Anita Grenier, gift raffle; Jeanine St. Hilaire and Liane Moreau, religious items; and Sister Christine and Yvette Audet, dinner with Father Ken.

Homemade food and desserts will be provided by Elaine Lake and her crew.

Legion event

MECHANIC FALLS – The American Legion Post 150 Auxiliary will sponsor a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the post home. There will be craft tables, a white elephant table, raffles, a bake sale, knives and a lunch.

‘Snowman’ bazaar

PARIS – The East Hebron Extension Homemakers will participate in the annual holiday bazaar and luncheon, sponsored by the Oxford County Extension Homemakers. The theme is “Holiday Traditions” and it will take place at the First Congregational Church, South Paris, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

The East Hebron Homemakers’ theme is “Frosty the Snowman.” Their sales table will offer a variety of items, including snowman wall hangings, catnip toys, snowman ornaments, chicken pin cushions and other items suitable for gift giving.

The bazaar provides an opportunity for the Extension Homemakers to share their knowledge and skills to the public through exhibits and demonstrations.

There will be a variety of sales tables, a bake sale, raffles and door prizes. A roast pork lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. by the South Paris Extension Homemakers.

School fair

WALES – The third annual Oak Hill High School craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the school. Proceeds will benefit the classes of 2008 and 2009. Tables are $25 and admission is free. For more information, call Cathy Rioux at 375-4824 or 841-5796.

Vet craft show

LEWISTON – The Lewiston Vet Center will host an arts and crafts show from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 8 and 9, at the center.

Admission is free and there will be refreshments. All veterans are welcome to display their work at the show. The displays will include oil and watercolor paintings, drawings, sculpture and metal work, woodworking, short stories and poetry.

To aid setup, artists who want to display their work may deliver and register their works to the Vet Center at least one or two days prior to the show. Call Bill Malay at 783-0068 for assistance. Volunteers are being sought to help with the show.
