LEWISTON – Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice is hosting its first holiday event, a Home for the Holidays Celebration, to benefit home care and hospice services at Poland Spring Preservation Park. A feature of the celebration will be the Remembrance Tree, decorated with handcrafted pine cone ornaments with a red bow and personalized remembrance message.

The agency is inviting the community to honor a loved one and support home care and hospice services by the purchase of a pine cone ornament. The ornaments will be on display from Dec. 1 to 16 in the Poland Spring Preservation Park Museum during operating hours, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Ornaments are $20 and can be purchased by calling the AHCH Development Office at 777-7740. Individual ornaments can be picked up at the celebration wrap-up on Saturday Dec. 16.

In addition to the Remembrance Tree, the celebration will feature an indoor forest of small holiday trees decorated by local groups and businesses. Trees will be auctioned to the highest bidder on Dec. 16.

The celebration will wrap up from noon to 3 p.m. that Saturday, with activities for the entire family including visits with Santa, tours of Preservation Park by horse and cart, a holiday scavenger hunt and bidding on a favorite tree.
