GRAPEVINE, Texas (AP) – The NFL’s salary cap is expected to go up by about $7 million per team in each of the next two seasons, reaching about $116 million for 2008.
The figures, which right now are approximations, were announced by members of the league’s management council Wednesday at a meeting with team financial officers.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the figures are subject to adjustment following a final accounting of revenues and other items that go into determining the new cap.
The current salary cap is just over $102 million, some $17 million higher than it was for 2005. The large jump came because of the extension to the labor agreement, reached last March.

It’s expected to be about $109 million in 2007, then go up an additional $7 million the next year.
