Lewiston – The Maine Public Broadcasting Network will hold a series of public meetings beginning next week in Lewiston to hear from people about their viewing and listening habits.

The meetings are part of a concerted effort by MPBN to effectively plan for the next five to 10 years amid a rapidly evolving media landscape.

“We’re planning for the future, and we’re trying to see it through the eyes of our audience and our members,” said MPBN President and CEO Jim Dowe.

The first meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at MPBN’s Ladd Studio facility at 1450 Lisbon St. Another will be held at the University of Maine at Farmington on Jan. 17.

Public input from those meetings and seven others around the state will be carefully recorded and considered by MPBN’s staff and Board of Trustees. They will use it to come up with a strategic plan on how to allocate limited public broadcasting resources in the most efficient manner possible in the years ahead.

People interested in sharing their opinion but who may be unable to attend a meeting are encouraged to use MPBN’s Web site to provide feedback. Visit www.mpbn.net/survey and fill out the survey form on that page.
