LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club will meet at noon Thursday, Jan. 25, at the Ramada Inn. Tommy Hottovy, pitcher for the Sea Dogs, will speak about life as a minor leaguer climbing to Boston and life as a Sea Dog player.

Hottovy, a left-handed pitcher from Parkville, Mo., attended Wichita State University and was drafted by the Red Sox in the fourth round of the June 2004 draft.

In seven regular season starts for Portland, he posted a 2-4 record with a 4/17 ERA and was named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the final week of the regular season.

Hottovy made two starts during the playoffs and earned a win in game two of the Northern Division series against the Trenton Thunders (Yankees).

Anyone wishing to hear the speaker or to learn more about Rotary is welcome to attend. Weekly buffet luncheons are $8 a person. Access the club’s Web site at www.lewistonauburnrotary.org for more information.
