FARMINGTON – Don Emery and Steve Levine will perform a noontime concert featuring acoustic blues from noon to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, in Nordica Auditorium at the University of Maine at Farmington.
The tentative song list includes works by Robert Johnson, Keb Mo and Jeremy Wallace with titles including “Sweet Home Chicago,” “Black Cat Bone,” “Dead Shrimp Blues,” “Blue Shoes,” and “St. James Infirmary.”
Emery has been performing professionally for more than 20 years and is well known in central Maine by musicians and music lovers for his strong, dynamic vocals and his bass and guitar playing.
Levine is a historian at the University of Virginia who has been performing acoustic blues professionally for several years. Although he plays all styles of blues music on acoustic and resonator guitars, he is particularly interested in blues from the 1920s and 1930s.
