BRUNSWICK – Peter Dugas and his jazz trio, and Alison Lee Freeman, a traditional chantey singer, will perform Saturday, March 3, as part of the Theater Project’s CAFE, an ongoing series featuring Artistic Director Al Miller as host to local artists and performers.
Dugas is an old friend and a familiar musician at The Theater Project. He and guitar player Lex Jones were just featured in The Theater Project’s 10th Annual Winter Cabaret in February, and his trio has performed at previous CAFEs.
A new face at The Theater Project, Freeman is a 21st century chantey singer who mixes traditional songs of the sea with newly renovated folk songs. She is known for her captivating harmonies and sense of humor. Her song “Alison’s Saab Story” was featured on NPR’s Car Talk.
CAFE performances are casual and begin at 8 p.m. Suggested ticket price is $10. Reservations may be made by calling The Theater Project at 729-8584, or stopping by the box office at 14 School St.
