AUBURN – The Mary Dillingham Chapter, DAR, Lewiston/Auburn, will honor eight area high school seniors and their parents at a meeting at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the Auburn Public Library.

The students are winners of the annual DAR Good Citizens Award and the DAR Good Citizenship Medal Award, through the National Defense Committee. They have been chosen by their respective schools for outstanding citizenship, honesty, courage, service, leadership and patriotism.

The Good Citizens Award also provides the opportunity for the students to participate in an essay contest, for which scholarships are presented on state and national levels. The DAR Good Citizens are chosen by the students and faculty of public and accredited private schools.

This year’s DAR Good Citizens are Cassandra Dillon, Buckfield Junior/Senior High School, daughter of Richard and Maureen Dillon of Buckfield; Breanna Wing, Edward Little High School, daughter of Art and Cindy Wing of Auburn; Lindsey A. Pelletier, Leavitt Area High School, Turner, daughter of John and Heidi Pelletier of Greene; and Desiree M. Wuthenow, Lewiston High School, daughter of the late Robin Wuthenow and her guardian, Ida M. Real of Lewiston.

The DAR Good Citizenship Medal Award winners are Brittany M. Randall, Leavitt Area High School, Turner, daughter of Mark and Joline Randall of Greene; Chantel McLellan, Lewiston High School, daughter of Sean and Monique McLellan of Lewiston.
