Seth Gallant, son of Timothy and Jody Gallant of Rumford, spent his winter break Jan. 6 to 13, volunteering at the Immokalee Friendship House in Immokalee, Fla., through the Saint Michael’s College alternative break/extended service program.
Gallant, a junior English major, a liberal arts residential Catholic college located in the Burlington area of Vermont, graduated from Mountain Valley High School.
Gallant worked with homeless men, women and children and helped the Friendship House staff by serving dinner every night. During the day, volunteers worked for the local Habitat for Humanity and as teacher’s assistants at the Immokalee Community School. Volunteers also worked at four local after-school programs, helping the children with homework and playing games.
