Grange to meet

MINOT – Members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will meet on Wednesday, April 4, at Minot Center Grange. Supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. followed by a meeting at 7:30. CWA Night will be observed, with the Committee on Women’s Activities in charge of the program. There will be an attendance drawing as well as a 50/50 raffle.

Subordinate grange winners of the cooking contest are reminded to bring their congo bars to be judged. All members and guests are welcome.

Seniors meeting

AUBURN – First Auburn Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, at Hasty Community Center and the board of directors will meet at 10 a.m. A food auction will be held and it is hoped members will participate. There will be a variety of homebaked Easter goodies. Guests are welcome.

Tickets will also be on sale for the lasagna dinner on Wednesday, April 18. There will be no raffle table. There will be a bag lunch.

The group met March 21 with 65 members present for a boiled dinner. March birthdays were celebrated. Winners for attendance prizes were Judy Holbrook and Betty Hebert; pot of gold, Ralph Lashua, Guy Donohue and Anna Gavel.

Trip Coordinator Joyce Poole announced the following trips: “Zoot Suit Riot,” Monday, Nov. 5, at Latana’s, Randolph, Mass., $65; “A Paste Full of Fun,” Merrimac, N.H, with side trips included, Thursday, Oct. 11, $75; “Bright Nights,” an overnight trip, Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 12 and 13, $215, double occupancy, Hampton Inn, Chicopee, Mass.,side trips included along with visiting the “Bright Night Light Display” in Springfield.

A New Year’s trip is planned from Dec. 30 to Jan. 1 to Four Point Hotel, Leominster, Mass., $409, double occupancy. The travel agency has requested reservations be made by Oct. 1, with a $50 deposit. To make reservations, contact Poole at 7884-3429 or Doris Michael at 782-6962.

Tax forms

AUBURN – The Auburn Public Library provides federal and state income tax forms and instructions. They are available in the reference area on the second floor. Library staff is on hand to assist patrons in locating the forms. For more information, call the reference desk at 333-6640, ext. 4.
