LISBON – Lisbon Adult Education has openings in classes starting in April and May.

A pre-algebra class will start Monday, April 9, meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. for eight weeks. An Advanced Web Design class using Dreamweaver will also begin on April 9. The class will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for four weeks.

A painting class will meet from 12:30 to 3 p.m. for five weeks beginning Wednesday, April 25. Two quilting classes will be offered. A stained glass quilting class will meet from 9:30 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, starting April 11, for two weeks. A sampler technique class will meet from 9:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday, May 2.

A Maine Driving Dynamics class will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. April 10 and 12.

A children’s craft class will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 25. The class is suitable for children ages 4 through 12. All materials will be provided.

Readers Anonymous, the Lisbon book club, is always open to new members. The group will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 3 and 31. The book selected for May 3 is “The Last Days of Dogtown” by Anita Diamant. The books selected for May 31 are “Snow Flower” and “The Secret Fan” by Lisa See.

A free evening walking group is forming. The group will meet at 7 p.m. in front of Lisbon High School on Mondays and Wednesdays starting Monday, April 23.

A spring wildflower walk, led by Park Ranger Verla Brooks, will be held at Beaver Park at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 3. Those going should meet at the entrance to Beaver Park, located off Cotton Road in Lisbon.

GED testing is offered from 2:30 to 5 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Students must be 18 or older and must have a government issued photo identification card. Accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities wishing to take the GED test.
