Worship leader

PARIS – Silver Moore-Leamon will be the worship leader Sunday, April 22, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris. Her sermon topic at the 10 a.m. service will be “What About Revelation?”

Music will be by the choir and Forest Perkins, church organist. Renee Wales will lead the Sunday school. The coffee hour will be in Good Cheer Hall following the service. Child care is provided and all are welcome.

Church auction

BETHEL – The West Parish Congregational Church, Church Street, will hold a Time and Talent Auction on Friday, April 27. Complimentary dessert and a pick-a-prize raffle auction will begin at 6 p.m. The live auction will starts at 7 p.m. Offerings will include a Richardson Lake boat trip, gardening help, hot air furnace, like-new power tools, 60- and 90-minute massages. All are welcome.

Dance lessons

WEST PARIS – Finnish dance lessons are being offered at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Finnish American Heritage Center, 8 Maple St. It is a beginner’s workshop, free and open to the public. No partner is required. Those who wish to observe are also welcome.

Society supper

HARTFORD – The Hartford Heritage Society will hold a public supper beginning at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the town hall, followed by a Chinese auction. Menu will include casseroles, baked beans, coleslaw, salads, pickles, homemade rolls and pie, coffee and beverages. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Financial workshops

PARIS – A “Financing Your Future” workshop will be offered at the Western Maine University and Community College in South Paris. The free workshop is sponsored by Women, Work and Community from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Fridays, May 11, 18, 25 and June 1, 8, 15.

The workshops wil help participants become more comfortable with money, look at current financial situations, learn the basics of money management and plan a personal financial future.

Tower fundraising

PARIS – “Fundraising for repair to the church tower is an ongoing process,” said the Rev. Walter Webb, pastor at Deering Memorial United Methodist Church, South Paris. “People of the area have rallied around to our fundraising efforts and we have now topped the $13,000 mark. But there is much more to be done.” The next activity will be a mystery theater presentation, “A Spirited Night in Swanson Manor,” at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12.
