The Buckfield Historical Society reconvened on April 12 after its winter recess. Following the business meeting, members had a potluck lunch and a presentation on early Buckfield history by Nancy Gerardin, who described the forces that helped Buckfield evolve from an unstructured settlement to a typical New England center village. The next meeting will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at the Buckfield Municipal Building. Anyone interested in learning about the history and the people of Buckfield is invited. From left are Vice President Cynthia Tucker, Gerardin and President Diana Dunn.
