BRUNSWICK – The Respite Care Program and the Nor’easters, a men’s barbershop chorus from the Midcoast area, will present a concert of popular music featuring standards of the early and middle 20th century Tuesday, May 8.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. at United Methodist Church on Church Road. A silent auction will be held before the concert, beginning at 6 p.m.
Besides the chorus directed by Jay Wiley of Hallowell, guest vocal groups will include two women’s quartets, Chantez and Omigosh!, from the Gardiner area; and male quartets Late Arrival from the Portland area and Noteworthy from the Nor’easters Chorus.
The featured quartet will be Back Bay Four, recent champions of the 2007 Granite and Pine Division contest for Northern New England.
Proceeds will benefit the Brunswick Area Respite Program, a nonprofit, senior recreational program that offers “time-out” for caregivers.
Tickets are $10, children under 12 free. Tickets may be purchased at the door, or reserved by calling Respite Care at 729-8571.
