AUGUSTA – SGM Sandra Beauchesne of Lewiston was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for outstanding meritorious achievement with Recruiting and Retention Command, Maine Army National Guard.

As a result of Beauchesne’s leadership and mission focus, the Maine Army National Guard experienced incredible recruiting gains, ranking ninth in the nation for accessions.

The Maine Army National Guard consists of approximately 2,055 personnel capable of responding to homeland, domestic and national emergencies.

Assigned at Camp Keyes, Beauchesne is the highest ranking enlisted female soldier in the Maine Army National Guard. Sandy and Robert Beauchesne reside in Lewiston.
