PARIS – A districtwide school budget hearing will be held Tuesday night. The $35.4 million spending plan goes to voters next month.
The hearing will begin at 7 p.m. in the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
The budget reflects a continuation of all-day kindergarten for the second year, the addition of a gifted and talented program, expansion of the foreign language program in the elementary schools while maintaining other existing programs.
Superintendent Mark Eastman called the budget “responsible” and “fair.”
School officials held a marathon session of budget hearings with each of eight district towns last month. This will be the first and only districtwide session.
Voters will act on the budget in a referendum June 12. It covers fiscal year July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008.
