AUBURN – The Great Falls Outlaws, a new entry in the Central Maine Men’s Senior Baseball League, earned their first victory of the season Sunday at Pettengill Park, a 7-5 win over the West Paris Westies.

Val Beaudet was the hero, whacking a 2-out, 2-run single in a 4-run uprising in the seventh inning that broke a 3-3 tie. He then hurled the final 2 innings to notch the save. Greg Massey was the big stick with 2 hits and 3 RBI. Dave Coburn drilled a run-scoring double.

Chris Reed was the starting pitcher, hurling 4 innings and striking out 6 while allowing 2 runs. Dave White was the winning pitcher, yielding just 1 run.

For the Westies, Mark Hreben and Pitcher Mike Godin both socked 2 hits, M. McBride walloped a homer.

The Outlaws, now 1-2 on the season, will host Litchfield next Sunday at 9 a.m. at Pettengill.
