AUBURN – Eight candidates completed a five-week, 130-hour training program, celebrating with a graduation ceremony held at Central Maine Community College in Auburn on May 24.

Brian Caron, Simon Graham, Cheryle Kelley, Carl Kimball and Cherie Spruill, all of Lewiston, Raymond Henry of Auburn, Joan Ben of Hartford and Donald Gagne of Mechanic Falls were awarded WorkReady Plus certificates.

The WorkReady Plus Program included 60 hours of hands-on machine tools training with introductions to grinding, milling, lathe work, as well as OSHA safety requirements and blueprint reading.

Participants also toured Dingley Press in Lisbon, and Tambrands and Formed Fiber Technologies in Auburn.

The WorkReady Plus training was facilitated by a partnership between Lewiston Adult Education, the Lewiston Career Center, the Central/Western Workforce Investment Board, Coastal Enterprises Inc. and Central Maine Community College.
