PARIS – Residents attending Saturday’s annual town meeting will have 28 articles to consider.

Fourteen of them address spending for municipal departments. The selectmen and the budget committee both recommend a total appropriation of $3,289,305.

Residents will also decide whether to increase the property tax levy limit of $1,711,235.98 in case the municipal budget approved by the articles exceeds that limit.

Vern Maxfield was chosen as meeting moderator Tuesday.

Also Tuesday, David W. Ivey and Glen W. Young were elected to serve three-year terms as selectmen. Albert T. Dignan won an uncontested race for a three-year term as trustee with the Paris Utility District.

The comprehensive plan passed, with 540-420. The subdivision ordinance was accepted by a vote of 487-468.

The annual town meeting begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, at the Paris Fire Station.
