NORWAY – A recently opened thrift store at the transfer station on Brown Street will hold its grand opening Saturday.
The Alpha and Omega Thrift Shop, which first opened its doors May 1, will hold a grand-opening celebration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Norway-Paris Solid Waste Facility.
The shop is leased by His Place Teen Center, a nonprofit organization in Oxford. It operates out of the building that once housed Ruby’s Goldmine, which closed in January. The purpose of the shop is to sell donated merchandise as well as reusable items that are brought to the transfer station.
The event will feature free food, including hamburgers, hot dogs and soda.
The thrift store is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Starting the week after the grand opening, the store will also be open Wednesdays.
