MEXICO – The summer schedule at University College at Rumford/Mexico will continue in July with more than 80 courses available from Maine’s public universities. Most courses will start on July 2 and 9, with sessions running from five to seven weeks.
Courses are taught in a range of subject areas, offering opportunities for educators, health care and social services providers, business and nonprofit administrators, childcare workers and others to improve skills or earn credentials. People who wish to take a course or two for personal enrichment can choose from writing, literature, history, psychology and political science.
Located on 13 Brown St., University College offers local access to the courses and programs of Maine’s seven public universities. Students may choose from courses delivered on-site, online or via interactive television and videoconference.
ITV and online courses are also available in Rangeley, Bingham, Kingfield, Farmington and Livermore Falls.
In addition to university courses, the college provides personalized support for students, particularly to those beginning college for the first time. Advisers help students apply for financial aid, gain admission to degree programs, register for classes and order textbooks.
Registration for July sessions is open and ongoing. Contact University College at 364-7882 or 1-800-696-1103 or online at http://www.learn.maine.edu/rumfordmexico.
