LEWISTON – Thrive and the Division of Children’s Behavioral Health Services are co-sponsoring the “Achieving the Promise: Cultural and Linguistic Competence in Maine” conference on June 28.

This Cultural and Linguistic competence conference will focus on heightening the awareness of diversity in community, mental health and well being, creating opportunities for dialogue and collaboration.

The keynote speaker is Keva White, MSW, LCADC, a nationally-noted cultural competency trainer who is recognized for developing programs for young people with serious emotional disorders. Sessions will examine refugee and immigrant trauma, health care disparities, language access, workforce development, and more.
