FARMINGTON – On the fourth of July, Henderson Memorial Baptist Church will be giving away free hot dogs after the parade. Music will be provided by Pierce House.
This community event is being sponsored to benefit the Franklin County Ecumenical Heating Fund. The fund was started in 2004 by the Poverty Busters, which is a collaboration between Western Maine Community Action and local clergy. Each heating seaon the group has raised upward of $15,000 to provide emergency heating assistance to families in need in Franklin County.
The Ecumenical Heating Fund is a ministry of FAEM (Farmington Area Ecumenical Ministry). All donations are tax deductible and, if given by name, are acknowledged.
Contributions for this important local ministry will be accepted at the hot dog giveaway, or can be mailed to: Franklin County Ecumenical Heating Fund, at P.O. Box 147, Farmington, ME 04938.
