ROXBURY – Selectmen are making yet another attempt to continue what they and previous boards started: finish the new combination town office/fire station complex on Route 17.
They will convene a special town meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Roxbury fire station at 1860 Roxbury Road to seek authorization to take out a five-year loan for $125,000 to complete the project.
Enacting a subdivision ordinance is the other warrant article.
At town meeting in March, voters defeated an article that would have raised $60,000 to complete work on the former Precision Metals building at 1095 Roxbury Road. It was the first time selectmen sought to raise the money through taxation. As of early March, $100,000 had been spent on the conversion process.
Calls Wednesday afternoon to selectmen and Town Clerk Tina Howard were not immediately returned.
