EAST DIXFIELD – The Countryfolk Music Theatre Jam Session will host the Maine Country Music Mobile Hall of Fame on Sunday, July 15. Photos, memorabilia, music and history will be on display and Maine Hall of Fame guest musicians will perform from noon to 6 p.m. The program is free and open to all.

Larry Bisbee said, “We support the efforts of the Maine Country Music Association in their Hall of Fame Building Project and want to showcase what they are doing in building a Maine Hall of Fame and Museum for all the people of Maine.”

The day will feature two stages of music and 20 to 40 local country musicians as well as a set performed by Hall of Famers. Tentatively scheduled Hall of Fame special guests are Norm Decoteau of Norway, Bing Crosby of Jay, Bob Elston of Clinton, Russ Adams of South Paris, Ginger Mae Dyer of Corinna and Sonny Bickford of the Bangor area.

The Hall of Fame Building Project includes a performing center for Maine country musicians. It will also contain educational archives for those interested in learning about the origins and growth of a genre of music that has been in Maine since its early history.

Countryfolk Music Theatre is located on Route 2 and hosts free jam sessions from 5 to 9 p.m. Fridays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays during the summer.
