SOUTH PARIS – Dillon Trundy pitched a complete game shutout in the first game Saturday and Bessey Motors pounded out 12 hits for 14 runs in the second outing to complete a doubleheader sweep of Gayton Saturday.

Trundy allowed just two hits and struck out four in a 6-0 win in the first game. Russ Estes had a three-run triple in the first inning, and Chris Roy added an RBI for a quick 5-0 lead. Ryan Yates, Justine Frechette and Estes all had two hits in the win.

In the second game, Nigel Cromwell had three hits and four RBI in a 14-2 win over Gayton. Bessey (11-6) scored 11 runs in the first three innings. Matt Verrier’s three-run homer in the third was part of a four-run inning and 11-0 lead. Erik Waite drove in both runs for Gayton (7-8).

Gilman takes twinbill

POLAND – Gilman Electric took a pair from Andy Valley with 7-2 and 6-4 wins in an American Legion twinbill Saturday.

Gilman’s Kyle Mullins struck out seven and scattered five hits in the first game. Joe Douglass had a three-run homer and Whitness Cross drove in a pair during a five-run third.

In the second game, Eric Picard had three hits and two RBI for Gilman (11-5). Nick Mullins added a pair of hits. Three runs in the third and two more in the fourth built a 5-0 lead.

Andy Valley (4-12) scored four in the top of the seventh to get within two.

Northern Oxford County splits

RUMFORD – Matt Lyons pitched both games of a doubleheader Saturday as Northern Oxford County split with Smith-Tobey. Lyons struck out six and scattered four hits in a 12-2 win in the opener.

Justin Staires had three hits and four RBI, including a three-run homer.

Short on pitching, Northern Oxford County went to Lyons again in the second game, but Smith-Tobey broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the fourth and a pair in the seventh.

Scott Rogers had two hits and a home run for Smith-Tobey (5-11) while Nick Cloutier had three hits and a solo homer. Matt Laubauskas had three hits for Nothern Oxford County (7-8).
