HARRISON – Andy Valley West’s 11-year-old All-Stars captured top honors in the 2007 Sebago-Long Lake Invitational Tournament held recently at the Field of Dreams Radar Complex.

AV’s pitcher-catcher duo of Ryan Godin and Jonah Williams, both of Norway, were unstoppable, dominating all 4 games.

In game one, Williams spun a 3-hitter, fanning 10, as AV edged Andy Valley East (12-year-olds) 3-1. Nick Bowie of South Paris went 2-2. Joseph Holt of Bethel, and Williams both added hits to seal the victory.

AV beat Sebago-Long Lake 8-3 in game 2. Godin was the winning hurler, striking out 7. Williams went 2-3 with a double, as did Walter Feeney of Norway. Buddy Williamson of Greenwood, and Cody Burch of Norway, both ripped triples, knocking in 5 runs. Owen Bennett of Buckfield also had a key hit.

In game 3, Williams tossed a shutout as West blanked Gorham 8-0. He allowed just 1 hit while fanning 15. Godin and Burch were repeat hitters, including a double. Bennett, Bowie and Williams also had hits.

AV West claimed the title with a 2-1 victory over Gorham. Godin hurled a 6-hitter, allowing no walks and striking out 8. Bennett doubled in the first inning to plate AV’s only 2 runs. Dustin Damon of Buckfield, made a saving catch at the fence. Williams picked off the tying run at third in a rundown in the final inning, assisted by Godin and Bennett, to end the thrilling contest.
