New York City is the place to see and be seen in early September, with movie stars and fashion icons attending the most talked about fashion event of the entire year, New York Fashion Week. Twice a year, once in September and once in February, New York becomes a haven for fashion designers to reveal their latest collections. Bryant Park, located in New York City, is transformed into a fashionista’s paradise for the massive event, including 12,000 square foot tents equipped with runway floors and hundreds of seats for each attendee.

In the month of September, designers show off their spring collections while the fall collections are unveiled in February. Not anyone can get into this fashion soirée being as how each show is invitation only with every designer being responsible for his or her guest list. The public may only become aware of the newest fashions to look out for by the articles and photographs released by fashion journalists, taking down notes as models walk down the runway.

New York Fashion Week is extremely significant because it sets the tone for the latest trends of that season and gives an idea of what department stores will be selling in the near future. With accompanied music, lighting changes, and celebrity sightings, there is no doubt that you are missing out if you are not in New York City for this occasion.
