LEWISTON – LAYHL Orange picked up a win and a tie in Squirt hockey action last week.

Orange downed LAYHL White, 5-3, behind a hat trick from Kevin Bannister. Eddie Turgeon and Conrad Grimmer each added a goal in the victory, with Victoria Sanford, Tyler Poisson, Brendan Donovan and Joe Dunn notching assists.

Dunn and Riley Whitcomb headlined the defensive effort for Orange, with Trent Spaulding collecting the victory between the pipes.

Owen McCarthy scored twice for the White squad. Corinne LaBerge also lit the lamp. Steven Hammerton registered two assists, with Chris Miller chipping in another. Liam Benson and Alex Morgan were defensive standouts.

Orange also battled Gardiner Black to a 2-2 tie. Poisson and Bannister scored the goals for LAYHL. Colby Bilodeau assisted Poisson’s game-tying strike with a terrific, end-to-end rush.

Cam Beach and Evan Bowers also played notable games for Orange, with Spaulding making some big saves in goal.

Chad Prince and Courtney Cotnoir were the Gardiner scorers.

Dakota Benson was credited with an assist, and Reid Cotnoir provided a lift at both ends of the ice.
