MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – Police said an armed man picked the wrong house to rob in Manchester on Monday night. The intruder wound up in the hospital under police guard, recovering from head injuries.
It all started just before midnight when residents of house on Beech Hill Drive said a masked man knocked on their door then burst his way into their home, armed with a shotgun, and demanded money. But a 20-year-old man and his 15-year-old brother grabbed the gun and fought off the intruder with a baseball bat.
Lisa Czzowitz said she had been asleep upstairs when she heard her older son yell out and then heard sounds of a struggle. She said she called police after going downstairs and finding both her sons fighting with an unknown man in the living room.
Police said when they arrived, the young men had the intruder, identified as 18-year-old Corey Bryson, pinned to the floor. The shotgun, which was loaded, was in two pieces nearby.
Bryson, a Manchester resident, is being charged with armed robbery and burglary.
