PORTLAND – Acclaimed, emerging singer-songwriter Will Dailey is bringing his soulful blend of deeply felt poetry, emotional resonance and finely-spun melodies to The Big Easy on Sunday, Dec. 30 at 9 p.m. A Boston native and winner of 2006 Boston Music Award for best male singer/songwriter, Dailey’s debut album Back Flipping Forward was released on Oct. 2, by CBS Records. On the release, Dailey shows his eclectic influences, from Tom Waits to early Rod Stewart, while conveying a sound that is fresh and contemporary and, as one reviewer stated, “You hear a long forgotten master being channeled here.”
Dailey’s debut is the first release from the newly launched CBS Records, a label that combines traditional music marketing with direct integration of its artists’ music into television programming on the CBS and CW networks.
The release of Dailey’s album was launched by this undeniably powerful medium – one that is playing an increasingly important role in breaking artists – and featured the artist performing his first single “Rise” on-camera in a special episode of “CSI: NY” on Oct. 17. As an added bonus, a commercial immediately followed the episode to “back announce” Dailey’s performance and informed the audience that the song and album are available for purchase.
