ORONO – Sophomore guard Kaimondre Owes piloted 20 points for the University of Maine as the Black Bears overtook the University of Maine at Augusta 109-69 at Alfond Arena in their first ever meeting on Friday.

Junior guard Deon Cheers recorded a game-high 21 points on eight field goals, including two 3-pointers, and three free throws for the Moose (7-4). Senior forward Chad Gray contributed 17 points, while senior guard Tristan Starbird added 16 points for Augusta in the losing effort.

Ithaca 101, Colby 91

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Sean Burton recorded 33 points on 7-for-9 shooting from 3-point range to lead Ithaca College to a 101-91 triumph over Colby College in men’s basketball action Friday.

The Bombers (5-3) shot 62 percent from the field in taking a 56-39 halftime lead.

The Mules (6-2) never took the lead in the second half, but came close a few times. Colby made it 83-82 when Mac Simpson nailed a 3-point shot with 6:27 remaining.

, and 91-89 when Adam Choice connected for a pair of free throws with 3:36 left in regulation.

Ithaca College went on an 8-0 run over the final few minutes to cement the win.
