The Lewiston Junior Maineiacs squirt travel team won once and tied once in games last weekend.

Facing the Capitols in Augusta, Lewiston skated to a 2-2 tie. Jacob Charest and Trevor Lachance scored, while Charest and Cody Woodward had assists. Sam Zashut made some key saves to preserve the tie.

Lewiston later skated to a 3-2 win over Casco Bay. Luc Dostie scored the game-winning goal in the third period. Cooper Richard and Charest also scored, while assists went to Evan Emerson, Ben Steele and Jed Drapeau. Mikaela Brown, Drapeau, Kiana Melvin, Steele, Jonathan Stugis and Kyle Ullrich played well on defense. Kyle Welch earned the win in goal.

Middle School League

The Lewiston Demons remained unbeaten, but slipped to second place in their division after a 6-6 comeback tie with Gardiner Middle School, in the Northern Middle School Hockey League. The Demons trailed 4-1 midway through the second period but came back. Alex Gregoire had a four-point night with two goals and two assists. Chris Rancourt tallied a goal and an assist. Other goals came from Kile Conn and Devin Bilodeau, with David Cusson getting the tying goal. Brett Vallee had two assists. Marty Moreau, Coleman Morency and Tommy Hird kept Gardiner in check all night. Also helping the cause was the strong skating of Nick Gilbert, Jake Bergeron, and Cam Boucher.
