LEWISTON – A Department of Health and Human Services caseworker was found dead in her car Tuesday night after her family reported her missing.
Police are investigating the death of 44-year-old Frances Kathryn Leavitt Flanders of Manchester, who was found inside her car at the DHHS parking lot on Main Street.
The death does not appear suspicious, police said, but the cause remains unknown pending results of an autopsy.
Deputy police Chief Michael Bussiere said detectives checked footage from a DHHS surveillance camera that revealed no suspicious activity.
When she failed to come home, her family called Maine State Police, who in turn contacted police in Lewiston who ultimately found her.
Flanders lived in Manchester with her husband and three children.
