UNITY – The 26th-annual Unity College Spring 5K Road Race will be held on Saturday, April 19.
This race is known as one of the fastest 5K’s in the state of Maine. The course starts from the Unity College gymnasium and winds its way through the village of Unity. Typically 75 to 100 runners and walkers participate in the event, which is also co-sponsored by the Central Maine Striders running club.
Registration for the race starts at 8 a.m. in the Activities Building. The race will start at 9:30 a.m., with walkers departing at 9:15 a.m. The registration fee is $10.
Prizes for various age groups will be awarded. The race will coincide with Unity College’s Earth Day celebration. Contact Gary Zane for more information (948-3131 ext. 241) or e-mail gzane@unity.edu.
