HARRISON – Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with nearly a dozen vehicle burglaries in Harrison over the past two weeks.

Bryan F. Wood, 18, of 17 James Way in Cumberland, and Sean O’Brien, 19, of 3 Critter Drive in Windham have each been charged with arson, theft of a firearm and two counts of burglary to a motor vehicle.

A statement from Capt. Don Goulet of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said deputies investigated the burglaries in which items such as money, electronics and a firearm were taken.

Lt. David DeGruchy of the Windham Police Department said a 1994 Buick Park Avenue was stolen in that town April 8 and discovered in a sand pit off Edes Falls Road in Harrison the same day. According to Goulet, the vehicle had been “burned extensively” in what was determined to be arson.

The Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Windham Police Department and the Fire Marshal’s Office in its investigation.

On April 11, the owner of a 1997 Dodge Dakota reported seeing his missing truck parked in a driveway on Edes Falls Road. Deputies responded and arrested Wood and O’Brien in the truck, Goulet said.

The investigation into the incident is continuing, and more charges are possible, he said.

Wood and O’Brien were booked at the Cumberland County Jail in Portland.
