Donna M. Perry/Sun Journal

Jay Town Clerk Ronda Palmer, right, waits on resident Austin Stubbs on Wednesday at the new town office. The new municipal building opened for business Wednesday. Selectmen will hold an open house from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15 at the building. Both Stubbs and Shawn Rainha, who accompanied him, said the new office is “pretty nice.” Kim Stubbs, who cannot be seen, said “As long as my taxes don’t go up, this is really nice.” Voters saved money for years and had to borrow some money from undesignated funds for the $1 million building that was converted from a former restaurant.
